Jaek returned a few minutes later and proceeded to tie the goblin up inside the house. He also left some venison and water to keep the thing fed if it ate face first, but at least it wouldn't starve. Subconciously he grinned at the idea of forcing the criminal scum to eat like a dog, but he pushed that to the back of his mind, that was day-guard crap. The night watch was something better.
With everything taken care of Rynak surveyed the site one more time and was about to try and move out when Dred decided to take a nap by the hut. He wasn't entirely the most efficient ally, but who could argue with the results so far.
"Liam you want to help Dred up over there? We gotta get moving as soon as possible."

Dred assumed he was dreaming. But he couldn't readily determine if he was or not. everything had a surreal look and he couldn't feel anything at all, but he was still in the camp. He unconciously floated over to Liam, and heard muted mutterings, as if submerged. Dred only caught a few bits of the sparse words exchangedd between him and Skye, but he couldn't think or do anything, only observe.
"His Kind..." Liam said.
"What am I Liam?' Dred questioned. "What am I?" Liam paused as if he heard Dred's inquiry. "I'm a thief. A murderer. But call me a liar and see where your road takes you..."
Rynak was calling the place to order, as they were about to continue thier search for the stolen treasure. Slowly, the world went dark, and Dred dreamed of nohting... just floated through the cosmos, blissfully at rest.
(Ooc: Okay Axle, you can finish it. Liam heard Dred in his mind, so respond how you wish.)

I asked, "His kind Liam? What is he if not human?"
Liam started to answer when the General yelled for everyone to get on their horses. Liam helped me climb atop the horse and climbed on behind me.
I asked, "What is he Liam?"
Liam sighed, "Dangerous Skye, very dangerous. Just don't be alone with him, alright?"
I laughed, "I think I can take 'im. 'Sides, he was here first. I met him a whole day and a half 'fore I met you."
Liam added, "It isn't a joke. Please Skye, he could kill ya."
I shook my head, "I know he wouldn't kill me."
Liam answered, "I've seen his type kill before. I saw one rip the head off a man right before me."
I scoffed, "What is he then?"
Liam said, "Ask him."
I slid off of the horse and answered, "I'll do that."
Dred just seemed to sleepily drift behind the horses, more in a dream than concious.
I patted his shoulder and asked, "You alright Dred?"
He answered, ......
I said, "Liam said something kind of interesting, about you not being human. Funny huh?"
He started to answer, and I felt fear rise up a little in my stomach. I hoped Liam was wrong, but I didn't get the feeling that he was.

"You alright Dred?" Skye asked. breaking him out of his dreams and rest, Dred slowly raised his head. A faint smily touched his lips, "Fine, for now, thank you." It was easy to tell that something was on her mind, and Dred didn't have to wait long to find out what her question would be.
"Liam said something kind of interesting, about you not being human. Funny huh?" Skye tried to sound joking, but nervousness was etching at her thoughts.
Dred sighed and remained silent for several moments. "What did Liam tell you I was? I hope he thought it over." Like I asked him to. He slowly rose to his feet, with one hand on the wall for support, then looked her casually in the eye, waiting for her response.

"Nothing," I answered, "he wouldn't tell me anything. He said you were dangerous. I don't believe that."

A slight chuckle escaped Dred's lips in a rare display of good nature. "You won't have to worry about me Skye, you have to worry about what's ahead." He raised a hand as if to pat her shoulder, but he let it fall as his hands clenched into fists. "I'll protect you if nothing else. But I'm not so sure about the other individuals that wander this realm." Dred nodded to the guards when he finished, "I'd be more worried about them and thier safety at the present."

To be completely honest, Dred's answer scared me just a bit. I could take him in a fight, I figured, however Liam was a bit of a small guy. I wasn't sure if he got him alone, how Liam might fair. Still, probably nothing. A guy with limited social skills and his attempts at flattery.
I smiled to the best of my ability and said, "Good to know you've got my back."
I didn't really wait for his answer. Liam called my name and I gladly pulled myself back up on his horse.
Liam asked, "What did he tell you?"
I shook my head, "Nothing. Seems pretty par for the course here. You don't tell me anything, he won't tell me anything. Come on guys..."
Liam asked, "What would you like to know?"
I answered, "For starters, where in the Hello Kitty are we going?"
(I don't really know, so take it from there.)

(OoC: sorry guys, I was on hiatus for AP test prep, I'm back for this post.)
BiC:
"Iah, southern edge of Naost island. We'll be there in under a day if we hurry." Rynak answered Skye's question despite knowing it was aimed at Liam. Team bonding was all well and good, but at a certain point Rynak suspected it would be distracting.
********* (Time skip because I feel like it)
The troop arrived in Iah shortly before noon the next day. They were all plenty tired, but the night watch group stayed tough. This wasn't the first time Rynak had them work under low sleep conditions. The sun shone off the ocean here just as it did in Nia, but it appeared to move in the opposite direction compared to the ocean. There was no bay around the port of Iah like there was in Nia. The land stuck slightly into the water instead.
Tsean yawned once they passed the short palisade surrounding Iah. Without turning to look at Tsean, Rynak stated, "Tsean, since you can't seem to stay awake you go find us an inn to stay at." Tsean slouched at the request, but orders were orders and he led his horse away from the main group.
Rynak paused after Tsean had left. He sat in silence for a few seconds before Jaek spoke up, "Perhaps if we start at the sherriff's office, surely he'd notice if the weird things we're looking for came through."
Rynak nodded and turned his horse to the left. He began a slow walk leading the way as he asked, "Unless anyone has a better idea, lets go with that."
(OoC: Figured I'd give you two a chance to interact.)

(OoC: Hm... Been a while but I'll just give this a little bump, looks to me like Genesis and Axle forgot. No worries though so did I. Incidentally it is the summer now, maybe some people might like to join us hmm? But whatever the story hopefully is about to pick up steam so I would like to push a little farther.)

Dred frowned at the city ahead. People. Lots and lots of people. Anything could happen here, and he had the feeling of being watched. He knew to trust these feelings. Things could get out of hand, if he wasn't careful, but he would enter with the rest of the party unless told otherwise. There were always groups of vagabonds wandering the streets that would go unnoticed. A few coins from them and a good meal to go with it. He did have a pocket of silver from the goblin's stash, but that was for later. Wrapping his scarf around his lower face, he followed the group into town, licking his lips at the prospect of real sustenance.

"Soldiers from the capital?" The sherrif asked when the group entered the small log building that served as the sherrif's office. It was one room, and very small with space only for two cells and the desk the sherrif sat at, "I suppose you're here about that gang that came into town yesterday?"
"Wow that was easy," remarked Jaek.
Rynak ignored him and asked, "Yes, we are as a matter of fact. Do you have information about them?"
The sherrif explained, "Naturally we've been keeping an eye on the visitors, but last I checked they were staying peacefully at the inn. Its down the street heading back towards the entrance to town, and on the right."
"That's where Tsean is," Fil stated, "I hope he hasn't gotten himself in a fight with them all by himself. We'd better hurry."
"Right," Rynak agreed. Rynak nodded to the sherrif once and then led the way back out into the streets. They mounted horses once again, and set them at a brisk trot down the streets. None of them wanted to have missed their target when they were so close and to lose a fellow in the loss, but at the same time none of them wanted to look like fools racing after something that may be nothing.
Fortunately they found Tsean near the center of town looking for them, and he had news of his own, "Hey guys, our mysterious bandit group apparently just left the inn I was going to get us rooms at. The innkeeper said he thought they were headed towards the docks."
(OoC: Extremely fast run through, but lets get on with it. Pst, Saphire should join up with the group or however she wants to do it now)

Adrian breathed deep the cool sea air, savoring not the scent, but rather the fact that the waters weren’t bucking like wild stallions. He looked to his right where his mentor, Kamen, loomed with his ebony staff leaning against one shoulder, while the unoccupied hand lazily sketched a glyph into the open air Further right was Beo. He was a much shorter build than Kamen, being eye-level with young Adrian, and in a more common garb, like that of a merchant. “Show me,” Beo breathed.
Kamen nodded and danced his fingers over the prow of the caravel, releasing foreign utterances. Simultaneously, a large mirror floated out of the folds of his silken robe, and an image took shape, tinged in pink. Kamen had found his specter. There were several figures, mostly soldiers, but there were two easily distinguishable from the rest. One was a red haired lass that seemed quite out of place, and the other was shrouded by a long mottled cloak and scarf. The latter of the two turned and a pair of beaming violet orbs seemed to stare through the mirror right at the trio. Adrian knew that Dred very well might be watching them. He’d stared through mirrors before.
While Adrian was fixated on Dred the other two looked at the landscape. Off a few miles away was a small port town, but they didn’t have much else to go by.
Kamen cursed silently before saying, “The little wretch isn’t in the city anymore.”
“Obviously,” Beo murmered. After a breif silence, he looked to Adrian. “Send the child.”
Adrian raised his eyebrows incredulously. “Do not fret my boy, you are there just to ascertain his whereabouts and follow him, not to engage,” Kamen answered his student’s unspoken question. “We’ll hire a galley and head to you’re location where we can finally catch the renegade.”
As usual, Adrian remained silent. Kamen tucked the mirror back into the folds of his robe and began murmuring more incantations. Soon Beo and Adrain joined in, Beo with a rough, growling mutter, and Adrian with a lilting singsong. Within moments, the air began to shimmer. Sparks began to jump from between Kamen’s fingers as he dipped his hands into the distorted mass and spread his arms apart. Beo ceased his chanting at this point, but Adrian continued to sing out notes as he approached the vacuum, and stepped through it, into the outskirts of Iah.
(ooc; hope ya don't mind me throwing another guy into the mix oracle. I don't plan on Beo and Kamen to get close to the main party anytime soon, they're way out in the ocean somewhere and caravels don't travel that fast anyway. I plan to use Adrian some, so if you're alright with it I'll make a profile for him.)
