So, I'm writing this novel. I've already written the middle part, Demonborn (which was originally a short story). I plan to add a section to the beginning and one to the end to make it a novel. I have a plot for the third section... But not the first.
I need ideas. You may want to read Demonborn so this isn't confusing. For the first section, Raizel grows up. When she's left on her own, she starts searching for a cure. What cures should she chase? I was thinking there could be a "magic spring" in some woods, somewhere, that the water would supposedly cure it, but it doesn't actually work. I need other ideas, too. She has to chase more than one rumor.
Anaya and Tener go to school in Bathchen, then go home to their village. They have to do something big there... Something to warrant this comment: "“They know about these things,” an elderly gentleman reminded his fellows gently." So far, I have one idea, but I'm not sure I like it. They bring some kind of disease from Bathchen and Anaya is the only one who knows how to cure it. I don't think it quite works, though...
So, any ideas are welcomed!

Hmmm...what about a spell? Raizel tries to see this wizard who tries to do a spell but it doesn't work because of blah blah blah.

That's an idea. I'll probably use it. Thanks.
Any ideas for Tener and Anaya?

Erm, what about Tener and Anaya are interested in magic? They want adventure so isn't magic a good source?

Okay, that's a good start. Now I just need something to do with magic that will show their village that they know a lot about it... Hmmm... I'll think that one over. Ideas are welcomed.

What about some prophecy, tale, legend, belief (you get the jest) that they become fascinated by and that involves magic somehow? Wow, that's vague but hopefully you get it. Right?

Ok, let me explain better.
So Anaya and Tener need a way to find out about magic? Well, what other way do you find out about things besides researching your self? Gossip, talk, chat, news, yadda yadda. So, couldn't there be some tale, legend, myth, whatever, going around (I have no idea what it would be about but it would somehow relate to magic) and that leads Anaya and Tener to want to find out more about magic. It seems that magic is a rather un-popular? subject? So when they tell so and so (like a librarian or someone they heard the story from) that they want to know more that person begins to tell everyone else that these kids were interested in magic. That better?
I'm trying to think of another way than a legend or tale to give Anaya and Tener that curiosity to find out more about magic. They either have to hear about something that sparks the interest or stubble upon something which makes them want to learn more about it. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

I have an idea...
Maybe they're interested in Demonborn. Demons are magic, so that leads to them being interested in magic. They could see the wreckage of a Demonborn attack or something...
They still need to prove themselves to the village, though. Having the knowledge isn't enough, showing it would be.

Yes! That's perfect!
Is there anyway to calm a Demonborn or stop them from attacking or something? They could find out more about Demonborns and magic and such and then a Demonborn attacks them somewhere and they calm it then runaway so it doesn't attack again.

Hmm... The idea has merit. Demonborn are supposed to be unstoppable, though. I guess they could do something like notice signs of a Demonborn in the area and warn the village so everyone can hide in time...?

Suppose to be unstoppable. Everything has it's ups and downs. Demonborns have to have a weakness, somewhere...
So Demonborns were created when a wizard did some spell or something wrong. But how does it continue on from there? I mean, Demonborns don't reproduce since they don't love. Well they can but that's going off somewhere else. So how are there more Demonborns when they don't usually reproduce? There'd have to be a wizard that constantly messes up in order for there to continue to be Demonborns. Explanation?

Once the gateway was opened, it stayed open. No one knows why certain babies are gateways, but the first one made it possible for there to be others. As to them having a weakness, they can be killed (obviously, lol), but it's really, really hard to do. Not a thing two teenagers could probably handle. At least, not without Raizel's help.

Are the babies born like that or does it show when they're a little older? Raizel was left out to die but how did they know she was a Demonborn? So like attracts like or in this case like destroys like. Makes sense. Not sure if it does to you, let me know. I'll explain it in English, lol.

Yeah, you got it. As long as there is a Demonborn, the gateway stays open, and others can get through. As soon as the last Demonborn is gone, the gateway is closed.
They can tell which children are Demonborn from the moment they're born... The little black eye mark on the collarbone, remember? Raizel had it? Hmm... Maybe I wasn't clear enough about that.
