Oh, I don't remember that. So they're marked so everyone knows? Makes sense.

It was kind of mentioned in passing, so it's okay that you don't remember. Yeah, they're marked... But the mark is usually covered by a shirt, so people only know if they look for it.

Okay...that doesn't really answer the question...
Anyway, I'm wondering how they get the mark? They get it when they're born right? Well how do they know that the baby is going to be a Demonborn?

They're not given the mark. They're born with it.

Ok, they're born with it but that means they're a Demonborn before they're even born. Right?

Good question. I don't know. Lol.
I guess only certain babies are fit to be Demonborn... Those the demons choose will be strong in life and not die easily. The ones that are most likely to live until their eighteenth birthday.

But how would they know which babies would be able to live up to their eighteenth birthday?
And that brings another question. Why on their eighteenth birthday?

They just know. They're demons, they know things. Say it's an aura that only demons can see.
Um... Why eighteenth? Because I needed a hero young enough for me to write well (I can only write characters around my own age - my characters grow older as I do, lol) and old enough to be able to kill a demon. Lol.
Maybe because humans are at their peak when they reach eighteen. Until then, they're not as strong as they could be, and after, they stay the same for a while, then start to weaken again.

Bah! I don't like the idea of demons just knowing things, it's just...creepy.
Makes perfect sense. I'm the same way with my characters. The main ones are close to my age, usually.
True.
