All my characters in the book I wrote have meaningful names. Like Jessica is my cousins name whom the book was originaly wrote for. Fathom has a book meaning, (Jessica can not Fathom the fact that Jake doesn't like her).
Physical description: Jessica is short-medium hight, twelve, golden blond hair with red lowlights. Very fashionable. Has acid green eyes.
Personality: Jessica gets what she wants, well most of the time. Friendship is very important to her, and she always sticks by her friends. Isn't the smartest of the trio, but she makes up for it in determination.
Do you think she is relatable and likeable.

If your characterization (how you develop the character as you write) skills are good enough, she's very relatable. She sounds like an interesting character. When you write her (if you haven't already), really try to make her personality shine through, and she'll be great.

I agree. If you really bring out that "wow factor" personality in her, she will be very ratable, as long as you keep to it, and make sure you never change that unique personality that is all her own. :]

Thanks ya'll, Jessica started out kind of like my cousing (it was supposed to be a short story about her) like a little bossy, snooty. But she turned out to be a great character, totally round. I know her fears, what she likes, even her favorite color! By the end of the book, people will really miss her. I might write a sequal though, I left it open just in case.

That would be cool. Everyone loves a good sequel.

I have an idea what the sequal would be about. Like the first quarter of the book would focus on the summer, then back to school! I really have to go back and rewrite the first draft though, because I want to make it more mature. I have a good idea for one of Jessica's friends, her stepfather abuses her but her mother doesn't believe her own daughter. Something to that affect. But if readers read the first book I think they would be a little surprised at the intensity.

It sounds really interesting. Perhaps it would surprise readers with its intensity, but that's not always a bad thing. Do you plan to post the story here?

Sequals are great, just as long as your characters stay the same and nothing drastict chnges the story. Personally, only really masterful books should have sequals, and half of them don't or do and I was dissappointed. Its hard to write something after another book on a topic that was created before. In my novel, "Ambia; The Minaqua Annals" it is a series, so it is going to be easier. But sometimes it is just better to leave it as is, and just write yourself the second book if it makes you feel better, and pass it around for critique if you really think it is as good as the first.

That what I plan to do, write a sequal and have friends and family judge it, maybe a few "test subjects". But I think this could be a sequal worthy book, kind of like a new adventure in every book. Non related for the most part, I guess it could be compared to Babysitter club, though I hate comparing books to others.

Yes... I have learned never to compare things that are very well known to things that have yet to be published. But, my weird friend is all "ZOMG, Ambia is the next Narnia!!!"... But I disagree... I have no claim to fame when it comes to "Oh, I is the next Stephane King" or whatever.

Yeah, people will ask me what my book is like. And I'm like "uhhhhhhhh" Which I found out is a very unsatisfactory answer for most people. Of course sometimes it's kinda of self centered to say "Like no other!". I just hand it to them and say "decide for yourself". Of course only like 3 people know about it. Neither are my parents. There is something person about a book, I have to keep it to my self. It's like exposing your soul. It's hard to put into words.

Average grades. Very athletic.
Physical Looks: Half Mexican (though knows no Spanish) long black hair. Brown eyes. Short and skinny. 12 years old.

I know what you mean about keeping writing to yourself. Writing a story is like putting a bit of yourself on paper - it can be really hard to share, and even harder to take criticism on.
As for Kayla... She sounds great. A little too perfect, though... What are her faults?

I agree....I like to know the faults in a character so, this may sound pathetic, but it makes me feel less inferior to the character so Im kinda not intimidated...And yes I do realize that sounds crazy but its true for me.

I agree with her being to perfect in a way. She needs to have like an annoying factor about her or something.
And I also agree with sharing writing. But my main fear is that people will steal its idea, and finish before me so that it makes me look like the copyrighter.
