My main use of inspiration is music. I sometimes listen to a song and think of why it is written. For example: What is the story behind 'Check Yes Juliet'? And pretty soon you have a whole story worth writing about a girl who can't be with the one she loves because of blah blah blah. Get it?
Here are some of my inspirational artists: We the Kings Boys Like Girls Panic at the Disco Secondhand Serenade Nirvana Guns and Roses Def Leopard Flyleaf Lifehouse
You are welcome to post your own.

I agree, music is a great inspiration. May I add something I find helpful? Well, whenever I'm in public I look at people and wonder, 'What does s/he do?' 'Why is s/he mad?' 'What's s/he's favorite music?' 'Does s/he know about such and such?' And so on. You can create an interesting story by wondering what real people do. Just an idea.

I get a lot of my inspiration from movies. Pull a specific scene that means a lot to you and put your character into it. Change the scene a little (ex: how they got there, why they're doing what they're doing), put in all your own characters, and build a story around it. Any movie can inspire me... Even one I've seen a million times, just never in quite that light.

Endovia, that's how Sarah Dessen says she gets her inspiration lol. Yeah Saphire, the Notebook has lots of inspirational moments. hehe

Oh, ok. I assume Sarah Dessen is a famous author I don't know about? I'm gonna go look her up.

Lol. I've seen The Notebook... Didn't get any inspiration from it, but that happens from time to time. I probably would if I saw it again.
I get inspiration from movies like... Van Helsing, Tristan and Isolde, Prince Caspian (the accent... I got inspiration from the accent... how cool is that?!), etc. But any movie can be inspiring, really. I'm mostly inspired when a character is suffering. *evil grin*

Nice, sapphiresmoke. You really enjoy torturing your characters, don't you?

*raises hand* Me.
I find them more pleasant to deal with when they're not being tortured. I prefer to handle a nice, well-tempered character to a half-starved prisoner, it's way more pleasant, for me at least.

oh I don't mind having them happy in the begining, but something horrible has to happen to them at the end. Haven't you read my story "Sound of Melody", endovia? It's ironic and horrible at the same time! *evil laugh* ^^I remembered comma!!!

I'm so proud of you, Beauty! You actually used a comma in the right place! Yes, I do enjoy torturing my characters...It makes the story more interesting. They can start out fine, but they have to suffer at least a little, or it's just not a story. Lol.
