This is just an idea, but you never know what happens with ideas. I was thinking of creating a new forum for this place, where we can access all the features and create a more 'visually appealing' forum. Basically, what I'm suggesting is that we move to a new forum, kind of like a version 2 of this place. I remember this was suggested a while back by the admin because she'd forgotten passwords to access areas on the forum to change boards and such, but we voted no because we were active and doing well. Now that we're not quite so active, I'm reconsidering. I think a new forum would be great to increase activity and attract new members. You guys are great, and I know I haven't been that active myself, but I think this place needs a face-lift and some newcomers. While this place is cozy and us 5 diligent members are fabulous, I don't think it'd hurt to try and gain new members to add some more life into the threads. What do you think?

I'm not really sure. It would be cool to get new members, definitely. But I really like this place, you know?

I'm open to ideas. Personally I prefer a simple, non-catchy format, but if we want more new people, then yeah we could give it a shot. My main problem with a whole new forum is that we'd loose all of our work currently posted. And a cool but blank forum is less popular than a bland one with history. If we could somehow modify the current one, then I'm all for it.

I know, I love this place too, Spectre. Yes, I agree, I've been thinking that maybe there's a way to move some of our boards here onto a new forum? I'd have to look into it. It'd be awesome if we could simply modify this one, but unfortunately the original admin to this forum is gone and I don't think she remembers the admin passwords to access and change features. If we had some way to contact her we could ask.

Okay, so as far as I am aware you cannot transfer boards from one forum on to a new forum, which stinks. You can, however, move boards within one forum, if you have the power to do so. I can copy all the posts in a topic from here and paste into one topic on the new forum, if you wanted, that way we would have the information from previous posts. Now, I've already made a new forum with proboards, so the settings, profiles, etc are the same as this one, because this is a proboards forum, too. I've called it The Literature Club: Version 2.0I put a simple but clean skin on it. All the text like the welcome, month, and quotes is all the same. I've add some new boards and left out others. There is a 'Literature' category instead of 'Writing' as it's called here, but unless you are a registered member you cannot see it. I've also linked back to this forum, the original, in the welcome section at the top left corner so we can always access our stories, poems, etc here. Take a look, and let me know what you think.

I'm having trouble accessing it... along with the proboards home page. Anyone else having difficulties?

I'm able to view it fine. But by 'access' do you mean viewing it or trying to log in? Because if you're trying to log in with your username and password on this forum, it won't work since it is an entirely different forum. If you want to log in there you'll need to create a new account on that forum.
However, if you're trying to view it and it's not working I might try clearing your History, Cache, and resetting your browser just to clean it up and see if that fixes it.

Me too. It says, "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." The new tab that opens just stays white.

ooooh, shiny. I likee, but I take it you're going to add the novel/poetry sections soon? And there's one thing I just thought of... the RP's gonna have to move. If ya want, you can make the RP section then I can copy paste it all in.

Haha, you guys sound like flies entranced by a light bulb. I've already added a novel/poetry/writing section, you simply can't see it unless you aren't a registered member. It's like how it is here, except the entire board is hidden from guests. I'm not really sure why, probably some setting I could change. But the idea is the same as here, that random visitors can't read/steal/see whatever they want. Once I log in, I can see it: i53.tinypic.com/2vng8r5.pngI've also put in sub-boards within the Novels, Short Stories, and Poems boards to help organize topics. Here's a view of the Novels sub-boards: i56.tinypic.com/167nuhj.pngYeah and copying and pasting was the only way I could think of transferring things from here to there. It's just going to show as one long post by one person instead of divided into multiple posts like it is here. I might suggest breaking it up into pages, though, when you copy it over. EDIT: I got the 'Literature' category to be viewable by guests, but when a guest tries to view on of the boards they get an error message saying they need to log in. So now it's the same as it is here.

Just as a heads up, my writing doesn't fit into any of the novel catagories. I love your horror description by the way now that we're talkin' transfers, I got caught reading some of the old poems from last year and the year before... the memories. It's funny, but I remember exactly what I was feeling at the time I first read those... especially the ones I wrote that I don't even remember writing When can we make an account? It won't let me.
