Yeah, solo/ensemble competition was today. I did fair on my music theater (Stars from LES MISERABLES), but forgot to do much acting seeing as I was missing my favorite prop  (namely my top-hat) MY Italien art song was better, but didn't get to go to state 'cause I forgot a line and Buckles (Mr. Buckles to those who don't know him) had to prompt me. Still got a one on it though so I didn't do too bad first time around  (One is good, THree is horrible) |

Stars from Les Mis is a good song. As far as the Les Mis you can do at solo ensemble personally I like Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, but I'm not brave enough to do that one.
I did very well at Solo Ensemble this year. My art song is going to state, and I still haven't heard back on the Barbershop Quartet. Things were falling into place really well for me.

They're classical songs, so for Genesis his Art Song was the Italian piece. Mine was in English though.

Yeah, Spectre, there's a really wide range of art songs. Some are pretty contemporary; a lot are really old. Lol. Congrats, Oracle! Can't say I'm shocked. Sorry about things going wrong for you, Genesis. I'm sure you sounded great anyway. You still have a couple of years to make it to state, at least. I managed to sound bad on my art solo senior year and didn't make it. I made it for musical theater, though... I kinda miss Solo and Ensemble. I don't really get to sing at all anymore. |
