Dred cursed to himself as the flames leapt towards him, forcing him to accidentally fire the crossbow. That was his last sane thought, as the blood on his hands left him completely feral.
Toppling over the edge, he sunk his claws into the ships planks and ripped furiously, trying to gain purchase on the slick wood. Maniacal laughter hammered his ears, and a furious screech tore through his throat as the slight hold he had on the planks was lost as he was slammed by the falling gangplank and duck.
The scarlet waters rushed into his nostrils, increasing the tempo of the the laughter, so much that it was a constant roar. the silent corpses on the ocean floor held no lure for Dred, nor did the thought of the silver payment he might receive. He needed a scream. He made a grasp for the duck but missed as Rynak pulled it out of the water and only succeeded in gouging one of it's feet. Bubbles poured from his mouth as a snarl hissed between his teeth, and with a few swift kicks, he propelled himself out of the salty water and onto the blood-soaked pier.
*** Adraian watched from a hillside outside of town and watched the guards charge the pier with great intrest. Dred was here, yes. But what was he after? With a shrug and a haunting tune on his lips, he sauntered off towards the town, determined not to be found.
When he had arrived, the battle had been in full swing. The soldiers fought valiantly on the dock, while a small ship swiftly approached. He decided to take a closer look, and made his way to the water. It didn't take him long, and he took cover in the shadows of a small warehouse. Having witnessed Dred jump into the sea, he assumed that things would be over quickly, as long as Dred didn't have another seizure. He also couldn't help but wonder why the guards had hired a creature like him.
As he watched, a woman with a hunter's garb and bow took cover right in front of him. he pressed against the wall, hoping against hope she wouldn't turn and see him. Blood leaked down her arm, but he knew that she wouldn't hesitate to strike if she perceived him as a threat, he didn't seem like the kind to follow a god of music, but his pitch cloak may make him seem like a disciple of darkness. He hugged the wall and attempted to inch away.

(OoC: This is short and awful, but I'm exhausted... So.)
BiC: As the boat drifted into her range, Mura shot another arrow at a random sailor and stuck him in the shoulder, losing track of the dark figure for a moment before an inhuman screech drew her attention to where he was falling into the water. She shuddered at the sound and sight of his clawing hands slipping from the side of the boat.
There was a slight scuffing sound behind her, and she glanced over her shoulder as she reached to count the arrows left in her quiver.

Ishana knew full well they weren't out of the water just yet, but their attackers no longer had a way on board. Hopefully they could keep them from trying until the ship was out of the harbor. If they pursued it was simply a matter of losing them at sea, and the sea was an exceptionally large place.
Another of his men struck down by that darned archer. He needed to get out of there before he ran out of sailors. "Oars!" He yelled to the sailors on board. The ship had already begun a slow move away from the pier, but with the ten oars operated by sailors hidden below deck they were swiftly moving out of archer range. Triumph at last, they had barely escaped with their prize. Once they were safe he pulled the crown of Naost back out of his cloak.
The crown was really fairly simple. It consisted of a silver ring with four points around it, spaced evenly. The points each held a fine pearl, and it was these pearls that Ishana was really after. Each pearl had a different marking, all of them simple, but all of them very powerful. He didn't know if the king of Naost had known, but the crown he had so casually worn was made up of 4 powerful runes. Water, Movement, Harmony, and Air, in the hands of the right runemage, the crown could have been a valuable piece of defense, but with it removed the main attack could be planned.
Back on the docks Rynak could only stare angrily at the ship as it left port. Him and his remaining men were all in heavy armor, they could not hope to swim after it. There wasn't even another boat handy to borrow. He could not afford to glare for very long he had a lot of information to process.
Several mysterious allies had shown up at the last minute, and he would have to figure out what purpose they had joined for. He had one man dead, another injuried and being lugged out of the ocean by the other two remaining guards. Most of their target had been killed or escaped but they still had one prisoner, a fiesty one too. The duck commander kept squirming, undoubtedly trying to get a dagger or something. Rynak had done a quick disarm of the duck, but he still didn't feel sure as he maintained one hand pinning the duck to the pier.
Then Dred landed on the pier, looking half crazed and angry. Rynak didn't like that look in his eyes, but the first step was to try and talk him down, "Dred? You alright?"

Dred crouched, rasping, inhaling. Eyes fixed on the wounded soldier. Blood. Nourishment. Rynak’s words were blocked by the ringing, which had surpassed it’s former blaring squeals, shredding his sanity like a wildfire would a sun scorched meadow. So he leapt towards the bleeding one, a silent snarl plastered on his face. Liam glanced in up in surprise and Skye’s image briefly doused the madness for a moment, just enough time for him to divert his course and soar over the side of the pier with a bloodcurdling scream, into the sea.

As he stood pressed against the wall, struggling to keep from twitching in nervousness, the archer glanced over her shoulder, and Adrian knew without doubt that she would see him. He had no time to go for his hammer, and even if he did, he was no fighter. She had the appearance of a hunter who had been at her trade for years, and greatly hardened by it, and would likely wound him badly or even kill him if he tried to incapacitate her. Licking his lips, he held his arms out to his side, opening the folds of his cloak in an attempt to appear unthreatening, exposing his hammer, water flask, and dark cherry flute hanging from his neck. Adrian looked her in the eye, not pleadingly, but he tried to appear calm, betrayed by his slightly quivering knees.

Rynak would not have been the commander he was without an ability to read people, but he wasn't quite sure of what he'd seen on Dred's face. "Hmm... I'll take that as a no." Rynak mumbled before giving orders, "Not sure what that was guys, but be ready for anything when he gets back out of the water. Hopefully he'll have his wits back."
With Dred in the water Rynak turned toward the duck pinned against the dock by his right hand. "I'll make a deal with you... Rhin was it?" Rynak informed the duck who remained stubbornly silent. "We want the information you've got. If you give it to us you won't end up like the rest of your crew."

Mura froze for an instant at the sight of the man pressed against the wall behind her. As she turned to face him, her hand flew from her quiver to her belt, where her hunting knife rested in its sheath, but he opened his cloak in a very non-threatening manner, displaying what she assumed was his only weapon - a small war hammer, she thought. Their eyes met, and he looked a little nervous. He didn't seem to be any danger, at least not to her, but he did look as if he was hiding from someone.
As the sounds of the battle behind her began to die down, she said quietly, "What are you doing?"

Lowering his arms, he gave a one word response, "Watching."

"Watching."
Mura's brow twitched in surprise. Watching? That was it? There was a battle going on, and he was watching?
"Why?" she asked. "I'd think you'd either fight or want to get as far away as possible."

(OoC: Well, since everyone and myself appear to have forgotten this... bump! Oh and I'm going to move the plot along, to the point where we start going more for you guys giving us the main direction.)
BiC:
Rhin squirmed his way into a more dignified position, though it was difficult with Rynak holding him by the back of his shirt. The duck paused to straighten his clothes before responding, "I have no loyalties, I'll tell you what you need for the right deal. What are you offering and what are you asking?"
Rynak glared, "I've already said what we're offering, your life. As for what I want to know, I want to know who that was in the boat you just helped escape." Everything was a statement, he didn't want to leave this guy any wiggle room, his attempt at bartering indicated he was trying already.
Rhin sighed, "I suppose that's to be expected." He debated for a second how he should answer, "That was Ishana."
"And just who is Ishana?"
"A human male."
"Cute duck. Drop the attitude before I reconsider my offer."
Rhin sighed it was a gamble. Tell too little to use to encourage them to offer him something more, but it backfired and just made him more likely to get off-ed. "Ishana was the diplomatic emissary from the Srabian Empire to the south (OoC: Island 28 on the world map). They wanted some symbolic victory before they tried to take the island itself or something. Weird guys right?"
"Great," Rynak mumbled. Then he shoved the duck towards Tsean, "Tie him up, he's under arrest for now." That was exactly what Rynak needed right now, proof of an invading force, one man dead, and an unsuccessful mission. This just was not Rynak's day.
"Hey all you hidding out there!" Rynak shouted out to the city where several mysterious helpers had come out of. "Come on out, fights over and I could use some help." He could certainly use all the help he could get right now, plus they deserved to know what had just happened.
The Naost Navy had to be ready, and they needed to know more about the precise plans that the Srabians were up to. Of course not many people knew as much about the world as Rynak, he would have to teach them what he knew. The Srabian Empire was powerful, rutheless, and they would be able to crush Naost with the equivalent of their little pinky if their plans stayed unknown.

(OoC: I'm kinda stuck until Adrian answers Mura... I suppose I could just move on and pretend she didn't ask that last question. I'll wait a bit longer, for now.)
