Not really a contest, more of a challenge. Since people seemed to like my poem "Pause" so much, I thought it would be cool if we all use the technique I used and see where it brings us. So. Take five-ten minutes to clear your mind of all your problems. Write them down if it helps, but get them out of your head for a bit. Then, write a stream of consciousness - whatever comes into your mind, anything and everything - for about twenty minutes. You'll be amazed at how bad some of it is, but also at how good it is. Then post however much of it you want to. All, nothing, somewhere in between. Even if you never share it, it's a really good excersise to get your writing going.

Was originally going to write a good poem but I kind of got lost...
My heart is tossed amongst the battered roses It’s brokenness is hidden from view All I knew was love, and have now paid the price
The granite stone stands as a testament to her memory Able to remember my every word yet sadly incapable of understanding my woes
I reach out to brush the cold away from her name But the gravestone is merely mimicking my heart And in turn my heart falls deeper into shadow
Emptiness lies within the dark And there is nothing to fear in the depths For black veils the light, so I may not see my own regrets
All I have accomplished has come to nothing Even if we had all the love in the world We would still feel the bitter touch of mortality
Death consumed her in an instant And leaves me to my misery As I walk these paths alone
My only comfort is the howling wolves That greet the rising moon before we drench it in blood
The angry haze of hate and terror Creep through my soul Obscuring my phantom form in the mirror
Reflections of our lives whirl by Demented and distorted are they Illusions created by demons abroad For Satan wishes to entice me into the fiery cantos of hell Where he shall burn for eternity All for the sake of power do we fall
Greed binds us in crimson chains Holding hostage our generosity Strangling our love in its iron vise
All virtue is gone as the end draws near Piercing shards of ice burrow into my skin As the winds of change blow across the horizon
It is over now In this world so cold and heartless I too, will fall beyond the veil Ne’re again to see the light of day
