Though it is probably too late for most writing contests I will put it out there for the next one. Nanowrimo was started 10 years ago (10th anni. this year) by Chris Baty and takes place during the month of November. The goal is to write 50,000 words in the month. It might seem like lots but really it comes down to 1,667 words a day. That doesn't sound as bad anymore. I am doing it this year and already got 50k words on the 10th but didn't like the novel so dropped it and starting fresh with a new novel. Give me a bit more of a challenge. So you can join at any point at www.nanowrimo.org I tell you it is very very fun and we could make it really fun by all doing it next year and party on here. So who is up for next year november. Never to early to start planning. -Tarvali

Thanks for telling us about it! It's definitely something we should think of doing as a group (each writing our own piece, of course).

Well for eveyone who might be curious I finished this nano with 100,014. My first novel got me to 50k on the 10th before I dropped it and then I started my second novel on the 13th. Just finished nano with 50,014 on it. This novel has atleast another 20k words left hidden away. Check back for updates and polls on it. xD
