Okay so I was sitting on the couch watching television; I was flipping the chanels and landed on a show where this young boy thought he had cancer. And for some reason this story line just popped into my brain.
Okay so the story would be told by a guy's perspective, I haven't qutie thought of a name for him yet, but I do have an idea. I might tell the story in a series of journal entries by him, or just flat out tell it, I'm not quite sure yet (if you want to interject your opinion here please do).
Anyway it would start out with this guy dating a girl name Rilla (name decided). They are having a great time, and are still young (a junior in high school). He decides that he wants to see other people, but still be her friend. He loves her, but you know, that's the only girl he's had a serious relationship with and he can't quite know yet until he dates other girls. Well, about a month after he breaks up with Rilla, something bad happens... She get's diagnosed with leukemia or cancer (haven't decided yet) He feels bad and decides to help her through this time and such...
Anyways... It would be more of a psychological story, and give you an idea about how it feels to feel like you are obligated to take care of an ex girlfriend of yours and a friend. How, in the end, Rilla was stronger than the guy in some ways. (In the end, as in, Rilla dies... awwww) when she dies it's going to be a big shocker, because since it's from the guys point of view all you see and hear is what he does. You know? So he see's Rilla getting treatment, and getting seemingly better... but in reality the cancer is eating her up inside, but he doesn't know that. So out of the blue the reader and the guy both find out that she has died...
I'm thinking about starting the story when he's at the funeral, but you don't know that's where he is at until the end. Like to a full circle kind of thing.
So it you would like to post any comments, or ideas for the story, that would be awesome. And feel free to ask any questions, they could help me elaborate and think of other scenes I would like to include in the book..
