I know, this is a very weird thing to ask for help with, but... Hey. I need help.
I'm a member of the National English Honor Society chapter for my school. On Halloween, we're going to trick-or-treat for children's books to donate. I need to dress up as a literary character, but I have NO idea who to be!
So here you have it: I have shoulder-length (sometimes longer, rarely shorter) blond hair and blue eyes. I'm short and rather stocky. I need a literary character that people will maybe recognize, at least when I tell them the name. It also has to be plausible - it has to work with me without my having to get a wig or anything, and I have to be able to find the costume.
I thought of maybe Jane Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, but the dress would be really hard to find, and probably expensive...
Any ideas?

Oh wow, I have no idea. I was thinking you could get a dog costume, a red one, and dress up like that big red dog that I can't remember the name of. Ah, no, you probably don't want to be a dog. I think whatever Beauty thinks will be fine, lol.

Sapphire;; If you want to be someone like Jane from Pride and Prejudice and are worried about prices, try doing something like buying a normal dress that could look like something similar to hers. Then try to buy things to add onto it; lace, felt, etc. If you have trouble adding onto it, find someone who can. A parent, a relative, even your grandma or aunt may be willing to help. If that does not work for you, then browse at the stores that sell costumes. Perhaps just looking around will be able to give you new ideas that you would never have thought of on your own. If that doesn't work, then maybe you should try looking into older dresses anyway, to get a better idea. I have a funny story that goes along with this. One year, my art teacher opened up her closet. You know what was in there? These Arabian pants from the previous play Aladdin. It may not work that way for you, but asking around your school couldn't hurt. There's always a chance that something funny and ironic like that will happen. Irish

Lol. Thanks, Irish. I'm not so into the arts-and-crafts costume making, though. It's a good idea, I just don't think I could pull it off. I was thinking I'd browse costume stores, for prices if not ideas. Please, keep in mind that Jane was an idea to help you find ideas! I don't have my heart set on being her or anything... In fact, I've pretty much decided against it. So other ideas would be nice...

Hmm. According to your hair color and such, I would almost recommend Rosalie from the Twilight series, if you know that. If not that, perhaps someone like Bridgett from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I really don't know what you are into or interested in, so if you could provide some kind of information regarding that it may help some of us help you out

New thought: Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. xD

Hmmm... Luna or Rosalie could work. Definite possibilities. I think Bridgett is too... high-school student-ish? If that makes sense... But good ideas! Thanks, Irish!
Of course, I'm still welcoming more ideas... Lol.
Sorry, Irish. Endovia, Axle, and Beauty know me pretty well, and they're mostly the ones who've been posting (along with me, hehe). I like fantasy, mainly, though realistic fiction is good, too, usually.

Hehe. I can see why Luna or Rosalie would work for you. If I think of anything else I will be sure to post it. But I believe that is all I can do for now. I will have my brain open though, for I too will need to think of something if I want to participate in trick-or-treating this year!

Well, thanks for the ideas! They're great. If you have trouble thinking of something for yourself, feel free to ask. Lol.

Hmm. For myself I am thinking of doing something from either Harry Potter or maybe something from a poem. I was even thinking the wolf from three little pigs, or maybe one of the pigs. Pigs are my favorite animal, by the way. I make my own costume usually, in the past I've made Spongebob and a scarecrow. Usually I advise people to make their own. It's fun and very creative, though I know many of us don't like to be hands-on with arts and crafts, as you stated before. I will continue to think -pokes brain-

Maybe, Sapphire, you could be an animal? Irish saying that she liked pigs made me think of that, lol, thanks Irish. I don't know many famous animal characters but perhaps Saphira from Eragon?

I have to wear it to school, though... Lol. I'd rather not be an animal... Though Saphira would be cool. It's a thought, at least.

Yeah, you'd be hot in a dragon costume. So human character...arg you can't die your hair right? I can think of a bunch of characters with brown hair but not blonde.
