Speaking as another guy, I agree with what minntwinfan said, mostly. Fact is, there really are stereotypes for guys as lazy and insensitive, and the problem is that quite a few fall into that category. I think oracle put it very well. Guys are generally more to the point, and don't care as much for the details. Generally. I personally know of some stereotypes for girls, also, like being oversensitive and dramatic. From what I've seen, this is also sometimes true. SOMETIMES.
The issue starts when someone tags any of those assumptions onto the entire gender, and says something stupid like "Guys are better than girls," or vice versa. Better? That's like saying east is better than west. Anyway, rant over.

You're right, Spectre. The same is true for all stereotypes. Some people fit them, but a lot don't.

I think a lot of people think of a gender from it's sterotype because the sterotypes think all people of that gender are sterotypes. But they're not.
