All contests in this thread are now closed to entries. More contests may be found on the club page on HL.
We have a couple of new contest! Here's the info:
Club Card Contest Rules: 1) Must have some kind of writing or book on it, obviously, since we're the Literature Club. Whether or not is has a horse on it is up to you. 2) The club name and the number of the account must be on it. 3) If it can sort of match the layout (doesn't have to be exact), that would be a plus. 4) Have the names of both prezzies on it. 5) We'll end the contest when we have enough entries. The prize will be 500k for now, but it might go up.
Poetry Contest Rules: 1) It does not have to rhyme, be a certain length, or be about a certain topic. Just have fun with it! Nothing too long, of course (Hollywood and Trinity do have to read all of the entries that come in). Just keep it less than a ballad, okay? 2) Prize will be 500k. As with the club card contest, this may go up. The deadline will be posted soon.

Please message your entry to the club. So far, everyone has made the poem into a pic (type it onto the background) and sent the link of the pic to the club. If you can't do that, you can post it here and I can do it for you.

okay its not a rhyming poem but it is a very special poem to me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m sorry I didn’t love you enough; I wish that I had But instead, I took you for granted And missed what could’ve been.
I look back and think Of all the fun times we spent Together.
Learning to drive to golf carts Collecting golf balls Art lessons.
But that was when I was little More recently, we went dancing In the town square.
But the most recent times of all Are the most Saddening.
You desperately wanted to share your wisdom With me But I ignored it.
You wanted to compare Our childhoods But I only half paid attention.
Now that I’m Going off To high school nearly,
I feel like I’ll always forget Something.
It must be the smile That I always got From you.
What I’ll miss most are Your fuzzy sweater, cologne scented Extra cozy hugs.
I wish Right now I could have one.
Just one more Is all I ask.
But my wish Will not be fullfilled For a long while.
For you are filling Heaven With your hugs and Mery mirth.
I am jealous of those Up in Hevan With you.
For they are Getting the hugs I so desperately want.
I’ll miss hearing your unmistakeable voice On the other end Of the phone.
I’ll miss you when I’m in horse shows For your loud voice and boastful attitude Will not be there to encourage me.
I’ll miss you so much when I’m in musicals Because music and dancing Were two of your favorite things.
I’ll miss you most at Cheeseburger in Paradise For Jimmy Buffet music Was some of your favorite.
As I think Of the memories I feel tears tracing my facial lines.
Especially the laughter lines Which you helped To create.
I wish so much for you to be here now To wrap me in a cologne grandpa sweater hug And reassure me that everything was all right.
I’ll miss The lakehouse And The Villages.
But I think the one thing I’ll miss the most Is Your incredible smile.
It can make anyone smile Especially with your famous jokes And stories of tricking the nuns.
I wish so much to relive that Sunday before you died So I could tell you how much I loved you And your hugs and stories.
I at least wish That God would give me the chance To say goodbye.
If I could hear your voice once more Feel your warm embrace a last time I would never complain again as long as I lived.
On the day of your burial, so many promies and vows were made to you I wish that I had something to say then But I didn’t.
Now that I think of it There are a few things I have to say.
I promise With God as my witness To be nicer to Kevin.
I promise To try my absolute hardest At everything I do.
I solemnly swear To visit you and Grandma Eileen As often as I can.
I’m runnin out of things to say Although there is only one thing left to say and it’s this: I’m sorry.
I wish I hadn’t taken you for granted Because it’s true that You don’t know what you have until it is gone.
Fancy That.
Well I was sitting at home, just like you do. Watching television whilst drinking a brew.
When all of a sudden, who could have knew? A pixie came tapping; his name was Stu.
He'd brought me some biscuits and a lovely cake too! So we lit up and candles, and out they were blew.
"Happy birthday!" he cried, like an actor on cue. "That cake wasn't mine, I baked it for you!"
I shook my head solemnly "My birthday's not due, for weeks or months even and their number isn't few."
His eyes welled with tears, "That's just not true," he cried with disappointment, "I was told so by Sue."
He huffed and he puffed, a real paddy he threw. "I'm gonna find me some traffic, to push her into!"
Well, he carried on shouting. He turned the air blue! And when he finally finished, i was forced to say "phew".
It was overreacting, in my point of view. So i booted the chap with the toe of my shoe.
"You're pretty rotten at heart, and that's not untrue!" I told Stu the pixie, so he knew we were through.
"I bet Sue was joking, it's nothing new, so get out of my house, go on now. Shoo!"
That was the last i saw of that mean pixie who, into a right royal temper he quickly flew.
Ah, excellent... You're entering it. In the new contest, though... Not this one. This one's done... I'll post it as an entry in the new one.
The club card contest is over, as I mentioned... I'm not posting new contests here anymore, as no one seems to look at them. The new contest are on the club page on HL. Right now, we have a poetry contest and a short story contest.
