So, I need help. I'm writing a story and I need a place for this story to take place. All I know is that it's a half-city. (lol) There's a lot of trees near by. Some type of forest? Evergreen, I think. Umm, there are a bunch of small restaurants. Well, not a bunch, but a couple. Some attractions. Nothing big like Disney or Sea World just small parks. It's a place where people know each other but there are still some strangers who are just there. Ha, I'm good at describing this. I'm still debating whether or not to make my own little half-city or use a real life location. Some real half-cities would be helpful. Or any ideas or something that I could add. Anything really. Just post! Thanks.

Fredricksburg TX, it's small, surrounded by forests, everyone knows everyone, but no one really dives too deeply into anyones business. My car broke down there one time, and I had to stay overnight. It was really creepy, everybody was too nice. The only real attraction is the Peach festival. I was actually there for the peach festival, great peaches. Impossible to find guitar strings in a place like that. I asked someone directions to Austin which is where I was headed, and the guy's beard was so thick I couldn't understand a word he said. It's kind of a neat little town though, German population and great food. When I say great food, everything was brilliant.

That sounds really cool. I'll do some research on it. But isn't it hot there?

I usually just make up places, or not mention the city unless you have to. I'll mention the school, or if it's north or south. Now and then I'll have a big city story, but not usually.
p.s. Yes, it's really hot in texas, lol. It got to 107 the other day!

Hmmm, I've been thinking of making up a place but I'd like a real place with history to back up my story. I think that would be really cool. I just don't know where on Earth to look for this place.
That's what I was thinking. Lol.

I live in the Texas Panhandle, and it's bloody hot. I went to Fredericksburg in the fall. It was lovely.

You should choose a half-city that's farther north... It's hot in summer that way, but cooler in fall and spring and just cold in winter. You have your pick of temperatures. Lol.

Yeah. Let's see. A half-city up in the north somewhere. Lots of trees. For some reason the trees must be there. I get to pick my temperatures. Haha. I like that. ;D

umm... *looks on map* What about Nebraska? It's supposed to have a bit of a country side, or Wisconsin. *high five axle* Yea! A fellow Texan! I live in the central area.

Yes, Wisconsin is good... Lots of trees, but some nice towns/cities, too. And if you're looking for a big attraction, there's the Wisconsin Dells (waterparks, museums, etc.). I've never been to Nebraska, so I wouldn't know about that.

Oh, I just thought of another place... Seven Devils, North Carolina. It's entirely mountains (I don't know if you want that, but it's cool)... It's really, really small, but Boone isn't too far away, and that's bigger. There are mountain trails to hike on, horseback riding, kayaking, stuff like that. It rains almost every day, though. At least, it did while I was there. Lol.
